Our Story

My Home Town: Newark, New Jersey – City of Opportunity

The moment I arrived in Newark in 1954, I knew that my life had changed forever. Prior to coming to America, I had never seen a boat, train, or plane. The few cars I had seen were all the same make, model, and color. I had left a place where everyone was the same. Newark's population could not have been more diverse - and all the people I met were full of energy.

What impressed me most about Newark was the ability its residents had to buy whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted it. Anything you could possibly want was available downtown and on Mulberry Street. As I got older, I discovered the other treasures this city had to offer: restaurants, theaters, libraries, museums, parks, and playgrounds. Newark's architecture also stood out in my mind. The city had been built by people from all over the world. And Newark was blessed with great geography. Newark was only a few miles from NYC and had its own wonderful infrastructure: Newark Penn Station, Newark Airport, and Port Newark.

The new millennium has seen Newark reach heights that outsiders said were impossible. The greatest part of Newark's new glory is that it is founded upon a more diverse group of people than ever before. People from the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and South America now call Newark home. They have come for the same reason my family did: the opportunity for a better life. Rosa Agency, the company that I founded with my brothers in 1976, is now in its 43rd year of servicing the real estate needs of Newark. For over 20 years now, I have also been building brand-new homes across the city.

God has granted my wish to see Newark's rise to prominence among the greatest American cities. My latest collection of new homes, the Jersey Shore Homes at Newark, features architectural models that have never been seen in Newark. These new models, which I have personally designed, will transform streetscapes throughout the city of Newark.

Once a Newarker, Always a Newarker!

Manny Rosa

Newark has undergone a transformation in the past decades and offers a diverse and dynamic city with a wide variety of attractions. It’s a happening place. The Garden State’s largest metropolis just 8 short miles from Manhattan.

Ken Gibson, mayor of Newark from 1970-1986, said, "Wherever our American cities are headed, Newark will get there first." The Jersey Shore Homes at Newark will show the world that Newark has arrived and is in first-place.
